#TRUTHINLOVE

The Speaking the Truth in Love Conference is an annual event in the life of Founders Baptist Church, an idea that stems from the Apostle Paul’s exhortation in Ephesians 4:15: “Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” Our theme for this year’s conference is “One New Man: Racial Reconciliation and the Church.” And on this topic, it is our conviction that we must speak the truth – the truth of the gospel of Christ – and that we must do it in love as Christ has commanded us.

For the past several years, we have witnessed a rise in racial disunity across the nation. Like many cities around the country and even the world, Houston is currently in debate about how to resolve these issues. And the question remains: How might the church bring the gospel to bear on the topic of racial reconciliation? How is it that God might “create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace” (Ephesians 2:15). A conference on racial reconciliation and the church in the nation’s fourth-largest city is both important and timely. The purpose of this meeting, therefore, is to equip Christians, pastors, church leaders, and local ministries to know how to apply the gospel on issues of race, ethics, and unity, and to explore what the gospel means for the future of gospel relationships within the increasingly diverse culture in America.

We invite you to join us on February 10-12, 2017 to be part of this important conversation.
